Research Focus

My research interest mainly lies in criminal law theory and comparative criminal law. My proposed research topic in MPI is: Understanding Bribery: Towards a More Reasonable and Effective Legal Response. In this research, the foundations of distinction between public and private sector bribery will be thoroughly examined by adopting interdisciplinary approach.

Academic Career

I am a PhD student at the MPI for Research on Collective Goods, Bonn. Before joining the MPI, I have been an assistant professor of law at Northwest University and a licensed lawyer in China. I was Dickinson Dees Fellow 2007-2008 at Durham University and Freeman Fellow 2002-2003 at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I received my LLM from Northwest University of Politics and Law, China in 2000. Before that I used to be a local public officer and an investigator of the Anti-corruption Bureau in China from 1991 to 1997. I got my diploma in English in 1991.
