Research Focus: 

Carsten is an Associate Professor of Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science. His research focuses on corporate law, securities regulation, and economic analysis of law. He studied law and economics at Humboldt University Berlin, the University of Minnesota, and the University of London. He worked or held visiting positions at various universities in Europe and the United States, including Humboldt University Berlin, King’s College London, the University of California at Berkeley, and Duke University. Carsten is also admitted to the bar in Germany and the United Kingdom, regularly advises a German law firm on matters of corporate law and corporate insolvency, and has prepared studies for the European Commission and the European Parliament on the reform of corporate governance, financial regulation, and private international law.
