Matthias Sutter publishes guest commentaries in the FAZ and in DER STANDARD on the recent ruling of the German Federal Labour Court on alleged discrimination against women in salary negotiations

"Is being successful at salary negotiations discrimination? A ruling by the German Federal Labour Court has some people up in arms: Without being asked, a company should have paid a woman as much as a man who bargained for more."

Matthias Sutter highlights three aspects in particular that are called into question by the court ruling: the individual success of negotiations, the contractual freedom of the negotiating parties, and the individual responsibility of the employee.
