Pamphlet of Results on German Student Aid (BAföG)
Together with Sascha Strobl from the Fraunhofer FIT, I conducted a large data collection including 22,000 enrolled university students from across Germany to determine (1) why students are not taking up student aid although they are eligible, (2) what role misperceptions play in the non-take-up of student aid, and (3) how concise information can correct misperceptions and increase take-up. The following document provides an overview of our results and our ongoing research in form of a whitepaper for policy makers and practitioners (in German).
